Our Story
Ocean View Australian Shepherd Club is a based in Southern California with members in in the Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange County areas. We are an Affiliate Club of the Australian Shepherd Club of America. OVASC was founded in May 1999 by Carrie Christensen (C Star Aussies) and Shawna Sakal-Beaty (Summertime Aussies). The founders felt a need for a new club in the area to put on local conformation shows and hopefully branch out into the obedience and agility arena one day.
We have club members competing and excelling in all venues, areas and levels of competition. We are especially proud of and support our junior members. Our junior members have excelled in handling, conformation and agility competition. Including achieving the prestigious "500" Club Junior Handling award.
We have successfully put on many shows since the club was founded. We have had very positive feedback from the members as well as exhibitors regarding our events. We now host approximately ten shows per year, including theme attire shows, our famous pot luck lunches and BBQ dinners.
